Run Fur Fun 5K


Our run/walk was a great success last year, and it's back again this year! Rain or shine, join us for our second RUN FUR FUN 5K, benefiting the hundreds of dogs we save each year from euthanasia at Miami-Dade Animal Services.

This time, it will be a late afternoon affair and will include an officially timed race on a certified course (no looping around) for our more serious runners, who will start at the front of the "pack". You have the option of completing the officially timed 5K run/walk on a certified course or a 1-mile run/walk just for fun. The best part is that your dog is welcome too! Don't have a dog, but wish you did? You can borrow one to run/walk from our Rent A Dog Booth!


Meet fellow dog lover and best selling author Dave Barry (our emcee for the day), while enjoying a full bar, food, vendors, and adoptable dogs at the celebration to follow.

Each participant will receive food, refreshments, a drawstring backpack with a T-shirt and bandana, and a medal while supplies last, so be sure to register early online!

Advance registration is $25 for adults and $15 for children ages 3-12 ($35/$25 on-site).
Online registration ends Saturday, April 25th at noon. Registration will still be available at packet pickup locations (top of page) or on site.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY:  The registered participant, individually, and/or as parent or legal guardian of the minor(s) listed herein, and/or on behalf of any and all family members and minor(s) listed herein, hereby acknowledge that Paws 4 You Rescue, Inc. is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit corporation and that the RUN FUR FUN is a community supported and non-commercial activity and event and, in addition, do hereby waive, release and forever discharge Paws 4 You Rescue, Inc., its officers, organizers, volunteers, affiliates and sponsors, from any claim or suit arising out of or relating to any accident, injury, property damage, or any other loss or damage whatsoever, including but not limited to any claim for negligent operation relating to, resulting from, arising out of or in any way connected with Paws 4 You Rescue's RUN FUR FUN.  The registered participant also authorize the use by Paws 4 You Rescue, Inc. and their programs of any photo, film or videotape taken of the undersigned and/or the minor child at the event for any purpose.  

RULES FOR DOGS:  Limit one dog per adult. Dogs must be current on all vaccinations and have current rabies tag attached to collar. Dogs musts be leashed at all times and under the control of their handlers. Dogs must be well-socialized and friendly with people and dogs of all sizes. Handlers are required to clean up after their dog using ‘doggy bags' and disposing of them in designated receptacles. Retractable leashes are not permitted. Dogs in heat are not permitted. Aggressive dogs are not permitted. RUN FUR FUN volunteers reserve the right to refuse entry to or remove any dog. Most importantly, we ask that you use good judgement on all matters concerning your dog. This will ensure an enjoyable and safe time for you and your best pal.

RAIN OR SHINE: No reimbursements will be given due to inclement weather.

STROLLERS:  Strollers are welcome to participate. People running with strollers will be started at the back of the pack. Courtesy and caution are expected as the absolute responsibility of the person pushing the stroller.
